01 / WHY WE’RE HEREFROM A GOOD IDEA TO A CLEARER PLAN

A great trip shouldn’t
take so much digging.

You spot a coastal walk you’d love to try. But can you reach it without a car? How long does it take? Will it fit your budget? Finding a place is often the easy part. Finding the detail takes longer.

TravelWide brings the location, the experience and the conversation closer together. We’re here to make useful travel advice easier to find, and give you a clearer sense of who it comes from.

A destination you hadn’t considered.

A traveller’s photograph introduces a coastal walk. The view draws you in; their account gives you a reason to look closer. A new possibility starts to take shape.

02 / THE TRAVELWIDE APP

The place.
The people.
The whole picture.

Discover somewhere that draws you in. Understand it through someone’s experience. Ask the question that helps you decide. Here’s how we’re connecting those moments in one app.

01

Discover through the map

Put a recommendation in context. Explore a place and the experiences around it, so one interesting stop can open up a whole area.

Find your next possibility
02

Travel communities & hubs

A first solo trip brings different questions from a weekend hike. Connect around a destination or travel style, and ask people who understand the trip you have in mind.

Find your people
03

Practical advice, from experience

How do you get there without a car? What did it cost? How much time should you allow? Learn the details behind the photograph, then decide what works for you.

Get the context to decide

And a place for your own perspective.

Make the experience yours.

Share your discoveries

Pass on the detail you wish you’d known

Add the information a beautiful image can’t explain: the bus you took, what you paid, when you visited or what you’d do differently. Share photographs and recommendations that help the next traveller understand the experience.

Unique travel profile

Your perspective. Your places. Your story.

Bring your experiences, recommendations and community contributions into a space that feels like you. Your profile gives people a sense of the traveller behind the advice, while your knowledge grows with every story and helpful answer you share.

Recommendations with context

Understand why a place might suit you

Look for the explanation behind the suggestion: who enjoyed it, why they went and what helped them. Firsthand advice and community feedback can give you more context than a list of places alone.

THE WORLD IS BETTER SHARED
03 / ONE COMMUNITY. MANY PERSPECTIVES.

People make
travel better.

A bus stop that’s easy to miss. A trail worth making time for. The most useful detail often comes from someone who has been. TravelWide is being built to bring those people and their knowledge into the conversation.

Arrive with a little more understanding.

Ask about the part you can’t work out: reaching a trailhead, allowing enough time or exploring alone. Hear from people with relevant experience, then return the favour with something you learnt on your own trip.

Useful conversations before you go. A place to contribute when you return.

About TravelWide

What is TravelWide?

TravelWide is a community-powered travel discovery app in development. It is designed to bring map discovery, recommendations from real travellers and practical advice into one place, helping you move from an interesting idea to a more informed decision about your trip.

The website introduces the app and its beta waitlist. The planned app is where people will explore places, ask questions and share their experience with travel communities.

Who is TravelWide designed for?

TravelWide is for every traveller, however you choose to explore. Whether you travel solo, as a couple, with friends or as a family, it is being built to help you discover places and find advice that fits your interests, budget and plans. From a weekend close to home to a longer adventure, the aim is to make useful travel knowledge easier to find.

Travellers and creators with useful experience to share are part of the same community. You do not need to be a professional content creator to contribute a recommendation or answer a question.

What is TravelWide trying to make easier?

TravelWide aims to make it easier to connect inspiration with the information you need to act on it. A photograph might introduce a place, but working out the journey, likely costs and fit for your interests can mean searching through disconnected posts and conversations.

The planned experience brings locations, firsthand accounts and relevant communities together. The goal is a clearer path from discovering somewhere to understanding it, without making you piece every detail together on your own.

How will TravelWide support my travel journey?

The experience we are building connects three steps: finding inspiration, exploring the detail and deciding what suits your trip. You might discover a coastal walk, look at its surroundings on the map and read what another traveller says about reaching it.

If a question remains, a destination or interest-based community can provide more perspectives. This is an illustration of the intended experience; TravelWide is still being developed and beta features may change as people test them.

Discovery, profiles & community

What will map discovery help me do?

Map discovery is intended to help you explore recommendations in the context of their surroundings. Instead of seeing a place in isolation, you can look at an area, notice nearby experiences and read the information travellers have shared about them.

That context can help you assess whether a stop fits your plans. The planned map is a way to discover places and understand an area; the marketing website does not offer a working map or navigation tool.

What are travel community hubs?

Travel community hubs are planned spaces for conversations around a destination or the way you like to travel. A solo traveller exploring a city and a backpacker planning a hike may need different advice, even when they are visiting the same region.

Hubs are intended to bring that shared context into the conversation. You can ask a specific question, compare experiences and pass on what helped you, making the advice more relevant to the journey you are considering.

What kind of travel advice can people share?

Useful contributions can explain what a place was like to visit: how someone got there, when they went, what they paid and what they would do differently. Photographs and personal recommendations become more helpful when they include this practical context.

A traveller’s experience is a perspective, not a guarantee that conditions will be the same for your visit. Time-sensitive details such as prices, access and transport should be checked with the relevant provider or official source before you rely on them.

What is a unique travel profile?

Your unique travel profile is the personal space we are building for your experiences, recommendations and community contributions. It is intended to reflect your perspective as a traveller and give other people context for the advice you share.

A useful answer, a memorable discovery and the story behind a photograph can all contribute to that picture. Here, unique means personal to you: your places, your interests and your experience. The final profile features will be confirmed during development.

How can travel creators be involved?

Travel creators are welcome to express interest in the beta and help shape a community built around useful travel knowledge. The planned app gives creators a place to add context to their discoveries, contribute recommendations and take part in conversations with people interested in a destination or travel style.

We are looking for firsthand knowledge and a willingness to answer practical questions. Audience growth, paid partnerships, earnings and particular levels of exposure are not promised as part of the beta.

What does “verified human travellers” mean?

Recommendations from verified human travellers are part of TravelWide’s intended direction: putting real people behind the advice. The verification process is still being developed, so the website does not demonstrate a completed verification system or verified accounts.

Confirming that an account belongs to a person would not, on its own, prove that they visited a location or that every recommendation is accurate. The checks, their limits and how they are displayed will need to be explained clearly before any verification claim is used in the live app.

The beta & joining the waitlist

When does the TravelWide beta launch?

The TravelWide beta is planned for November 2026. The app is still in development and is not available to download yet.

A confirmed waitlist registration reserves your beta place. We’ll email your access details when it is ready, including supported devices and setup instructions. The exact launch day has not been announced.

Is TravelWide available to download?

TravelWide is in development, with the beta planned for November 2026. Joining the waitlist reserves your beta place; the app is not available to download through this website yet.

We’ll email you when your beta access is ready, including supported devices and setup instructions. Official store links will appear only when the app is available. The exact release date will be shared as development progresses.

Will TravelWide be available on iPhone or Android?

Supported devices for the TravelWide beta have not been announced yet. We’ll confirm compatibility and provide setup instructions before beta access begins.

Joining the waitlist does not require a particular phone today. Official download links will be added when the app becomes available.

How do I join the TravelWide beta waitlist?

Use the Join the Beta Waitlist form and enter your email address. You do not need to create a travel profile or enter payment details. Your registration is saved only when the website confirms that your address is on the waitlist.

A successful registration reserves your beta place. We’ll email you progress and access details for the beta, planned for November 2026. Repeating a signup with the same address does not use another place.

What happens after joining, and what does beta testing involve?

Your beta place is reserved once the website confirms your registration. Co-founders Josh and Oli will share progress as we prepare to release the beta in November 2026. We’ll email you when your access is ready, with supported devices, setup instructions and ways to share feedback.

The website shows a personal thank-you after your address is saved. Beta testers will help us understand what is useful and what needs work before the wider launch. We’ll explain the testing schedule and available features before you get started.

What does the remaining-spaces number mean?

The number shows the remaining places in our current promotional allocation. We may release additional places before launch. The number updates as new travellers join; signing up again with the same email address does not take another place.

A confirmed registration reserves your place in the TravelWide beta, planned for November 2026. We’ll email your access details when it is ready; joining does not give immediate access to the app.

Will TravelWide or the beta cost anything?

Joining the TravelWide beta waitlist is free and does not require payment details. It does not create a paid subscription or commit you to buying the app.

Early members covered by our founding offer get free access to any Premium features we introduce in future. General app pricing and any other beta participation terms have not been confirmed; any charges and terms will be explained before you are asked to take part in a paid product or feature.

Does the beta waitlist sign me up for a newsletter?

Selecting “Join the beta” reserves your beta place and requests the TravelWide newsletter, as explained above the button. It includes behind-the-scenes updates, travel inspiration and community news. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter anytime without losing your beta place.

You can stop newsletter emails without giving up your beta place. Reply to an email or use the contact details on our Privacy page to change your preferences. An earlier beta-only signup is not automatically turned into a newsletter subscription.
